Thomas is interested in getting data from experiments without resorting to computationally expensive dynamics calculations.
Before joining the group, Thomas received both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Physics from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), where he completed projects in molecular dynamics for computational biophysics. He then completed his PhD with Adam in Edinburgh, where he performed early work on scattering. He then moved to Newcastle University to complete a Postdoc with Tom Penfold, returning to the group to start another Postdoc with Adam and Peter Weber at Brown University (USA).
